Welcome from DCPTA PresidentWelcome to the Washington DC Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association! Do you ever wish you could go back to school for a quick refresher course on an area of practice outside you own? Are you a great manual therapist, but are a little foggy on how to best handle a wound? Do you see mostly adults, but would like some quick tips and tricks for the occasional kid that show up at your clinic? DCPTA’s fall membership meetings will feature your choice of two one-hour courses designed to bridge the gap between specialty areas and general physical therapy practice. We look forward to seeing you there!
Join us for Nosh and Knowledge starting this summer. This is a great opportunity for stuents, new professionals, and members looking for a career change to meet with professionals and discuss different areas within the physical therapy profession. Contact us if you have a topic you are interested in or if you want to host a session in your community.
Our mission is to promote advocacy, service, and dissemination of knowledge to our membership, the profession, and the community at large. Our ability to accomplish this mission comes directly from the strength of our members. Our members come from a wide array of settings from DC’s various private practices, rehabilitation and acute care hospitals, and research centers. Our various networking events provide great ways to connect with colleagues and forge relationships that will help carry you into the future.
Physical therapy is a critical profession to our nation’s health care system. It’s been rewarding for me personally and I’m proud to serve as this chapter’s president. I look forward to meeting you at our next event! - Jason Dring PT, DPT, GCS
